  1. M45 is both known as "The Pleiades" or 
  2. "The Seven Sisters". This is the best 
  3. known open cluster in the sky due to its
  4. size and brightness. Mentioned frequently
  5. in ancient writings, the Pleiades contains
  6. over 250 members, with a dozen visible 
  7. to the naked eye. The entire cluster is
  8. surrounded by faint wispy bluish 
  9. nebulosity, visually hard to see, but 
  10. dramatic in photographs. In scopes, 
  11. you'll need a low power eyepiece in order
  12. to capture it in its entirety.
